University of the Incarnate Word Athletics

His sub-par round on the final day of the Moe O’Brien Intercollegiate tournament in Louisiana jumped Incarnate Word up a notch and as a result Austin Jordan is the UIW male athlete of the week for February 24 to March 2. 
 
He now will be on the ballot at year’s end when UIW coaches and athletic administrators select a male athlete of the year.
 
Heading into the final 18 holes the Cardinals were down 12 strokes to then third place SF Austin.  As UIW’s players began to hit more and more fairways Jordan was the team leader with his two-under 70 giving him an even par 216 for the three day event.  That 216 total put him in a tie for ninth position among all individuals.
 
That final team score of 872 also jumped the Cardinals over SF Austin into third place, alone.  McNeese State hosted the tournament and won the competition going away with four of its five players all under par.
 
The O’Brien was the first competition of the spring for Incarnate Word.
