The Incarnate Word men's track and field team again fielded entries at both the Texas Relays, hosted by the University of Texas, as well as the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Texas State University.
The list notable results at the Texas Relays was short with just
Devin Gills posting a 10.48-second finish in the 100-meter dash, placing 18th.
But the Cardinals were having a strong showing over in San Marcos at the Bobcat Invitational with five top-10 finishes and one event victory.
Incarnate Word finished 1-2 in the 1,500-meter run with
Anthony Zapata taking the top spot over teammate
Ethan Malesich. Zapata finished in 3:48.72, just edging Malesich who posted a time of 3:49.09.
Eric Pineda claimed sixth in the event with a time of 3:51.07.
Mason Winecoff placed 10th in the hammer throw with his best distance being 50.06 meters. And
Cody Schmedding took 7th in the decathlon, aided by a trio of seventh-place finishes in the 400-meter dash, the 110-meter hurdles, and the pole vault on Friday.
