Tajh Jones' second-place finish in the long jump highlighted the activity at day 1 of the UTSA Invitational for the Incarnate Word Men's Track and Field team.

Jones' best attempt of the day was 7.66 meters (25-1.50 feet), moving him into second place all-time, just 0.50 feet shy of the top Cardinal mark.

Other notable results on the day included a fourth-place finish in javelin throw for Mika Funck, with a mark of 61.66 meters (202-4.00 feet), also moving him into second on the all-time list. And the last top-five finish of the day came from Alex Brown in hammer throw, who posted a distance of 55.15 meters.

The Cardinals take on day 2 of the UTSA Invitational on Saturday, March 21st with the events getting underway at 11:00 a.m.
