SUGAR LAND, Texas – the University of the Incarnate Word men's golf team finished up a great outing at the Colin Montgomerie Invitational on the first weekend of March.
Joe Buenfeld led the way for the Cardinals from the very beginning as he was even through the first two rounds and tied for third.
Carson Hunsucker was even at 71 through round one and shot two over in round two for a total of 144 strokes and a seventh-place finish.
Francisco Taboada was +3 in round one but improved with an even second round, finishing day one a single stroke behind Hunsucker and tied for thirteenth.
Jack Ward was +10 and
Ken-Marten Soo was +12 after day one and the Cardinals found themselves in third place.
Joe Buenfeld finished strong shooting two under in the final round of competition and taking second place. Soo had his best round shooting +2, moving up to forty-first along with Ward who took 75 strokes in round three. Taboada was +3, and moved up one spot, tied for twelfth.
Carson Hunsucker rounded out the group shooting +6 in the final round and UIW remained in third after three rounds.
The Cardinals will be back in action again next week at Big Texan Match Play.
