ARLINGTON, TX – The University of the Incarnate Word women's basketball team earned a spot in the postseason, capturing an at-large selection into the 2025 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). More information on the WNIT can be found here. 
 

The 48-team WNIT field consists of 11 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large selections, determined by tournament officials based on a range of criteria. This year marks the 27th edition of the postseason tournament. 

UIW is one of three teams Southland Conference teams to earn a spot in the tournament as Lamar and Northwestern State are the others. The Red and Black will be making its first appearance in the postseason since 2022.


The Cardinals will face UT Arlington in the first round.
