SAN ANTONIO – In his first game as a Cardinal, Jalen Walthall led the University of the Incarnate Word's receiving core to earn himself Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Walthall, a redshirt junior from Hawai'i, looks to be a key contributor for the Cardinals this season. He capped off the 28-7 season opener win over Northern Colorado on Saturday night with 103 receiving yards on five catches and a 46-yard touchdown to take a 14-7 lead over the Bears in the second quarter.
