SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football team released its 2026 schedule Tuesday morning. This will be a historic season with several marquee matchups both in and out of Southland Conference play.
 
The Cardinals will kick off 2026 in Week 0 for the second consecutive season, this time against FCS powerhouse North Dakota State University before traveling to Northern Arizona to face off against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. The Cardinals will wrap up non-conference play in week four when UIW heads up to San Marcos to take on former UIW Head Football Coach GJ Kinnie and the Texas State Bobcats.
 
With only three non-conference games slated for 2026 the Cardinals will have the full slate of conference opponents, taking on all nine other SLC programs. UIW fans will have several opportunities to see the Cardinals play in Benson Stadium with five of those nine conference games being played at home.
