SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word volleyball program has announced its 2024 schedule under second-year head coach Gabryel Ording.
The Cardinals are looking to build on last year's record-breaking season, which featured the most wins in program history (15) and ended with a trip to the Southland Conference Tournament.
UIW opens this season with road tournaments at Sam Houston State, UTSA, McNeese, and New Mexico State.
Southland Conference play for the Cardinals begins on September 26 at Texas A&M Commerce. UIW plays host for the first time for the 2024 season on October 3 against The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). All eight home matches will be played against conference foes.
The Cardinals have nine returners, including four seniors. Natali Kimmel, Risa Sena, Audrey Patton, and Anuhea Faitau are set to lead the way for UIW. Kimmel led the team in assists (698) and service aces (48). Sena finished second in kills with 279 and third in blocks with 55. Patton recorded 232 digs and 27 assists, good enough to finish second and third amongst the Cardinals, respectively. Faitau's 33 service aces marked the second most on the team.
