SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football program announces a competitive non-conference slate for the 2024 season.
The Cardinals continue to rise as a championship-contending program, starting the 2024 season with a rematch against Northern Colorado University. Last season, UIW defeated the Bears 42-7 for the first win of the season and the first win for Head Coach
Clint Killough.
South Dakota State is the next stop for UIW, a true test against the back-to-back FCS Champions on their home turf. The Jackrabbits ended the 2023 season undefeated with a 15-0 record, extending their win streak to 29 games.
UIW then travels to Southern Illinois University for a rematch from the 2022 season where the Cardinals defeated the then No. 9 Salukis, 64-29, in the season-opener at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.
The Cardinals return home for matchups against Northern Arizona and Prairie View A&M University to close out non-conference play.
Back-to-back home games against Nicholls and McNeese State begin Southland Conference play in March. Then, the Cardinals travel to Northwestern State before returning home against Lamar. UIW heads to Southeastern Louisiana, which is followed by the final home game of the season against Houston Christian and the regular season ends at Texas A&M – Commerce.
