SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football program was picked as the No. 6 seed during the 2024 NCAA FCS Playoff Selection Show on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals received a first-round bye and are set to host the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium. No. 6 UIW now will play the winner between No 11 Villanova and Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, December 7.
 
The Cardinals were crowned the Southland Conference Champions, for the third time in four years and this playoff appearance marks the fourth postseason trip for UIW football. The Cardinals reached new heights during the 2024 season, marking the first team in program history to go undefeated in Southland Conference play.
 
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12 p.m. on Monday, November 25 at tickets.uiwcardinals.com.

Faculty/Staff Tickets
Tickets for UIW Faculty/Staff for NCAA Football Playoff games can be purchased for $20.00 per ticket (maximum of two tickets) in person from December 2-6 from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM at the UIW Athletics Ticket Office located between Benson Stadium and the McDermott Convocation Center. All Faculty/Staff must present their University-issued ID. Tickets can also be purchased via phone by calling 210-805-3000. Tickets purchased in person can be printed or sent digitally to a UIW e-mail address. Tickets purchased over the phone can only be sent digitally to a UIW email address. There will be no online sales for Faculty/Staff tickets.
