SAN ANTONIO – Keeley Ayala, formerly of the University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team, signed a professional contract with Szekszárdi UFC out of Hungary, Tuesday, August 22, to continue her soccer career.
During her five-year career at UIW, Ayala was a spark for the Cardinal offense. After seeing action in 16 games as a freshman, Ayala was named to the Southland All-Academic First Team.
She ended her sophomore campaign with 13 goals in 18 starts and two assists, totaling 28 points. Ayala also was first in the nation in penalty kicks attempted and scored with a record of 6-6. Ayala was a member of the squad that made UIW's first appearance at the Southland Conference Tournament in program history.
In the 2021 season, Ayala Appeared in all 21 games playing 1,568 minutes with three goals, two assists and 28 shots on goal.
During her final season Ayala was the leading scorer with six goals and two assists in her 14 games played. She was named to the Southland Conference All-Academic second team.
Ayala's 25 career goals are tenth all-time in the UIW women's soccer record book. Ayala is sixth in the record book with seven game-winning goals and sixth in shot attempts with 211 in her career.
