SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team split its two matches this past week. The Cardinals routed Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) 5-0 on Thursday and fell to Tarleton State 4-1 on Sunday.   
 

Game 1: UIW 5, PVAMU 0    

Sophomore Joella Livingston put the Cardinals on the board in the tenth minute with her first collegiate goal of her career. The Cardinals carried a 1-0 lead into the half.  

The Red and Black point leader, Alex Knutson, picked up her second and third goals of the season to extend the Cardinals' lead to 3-0.  

Tyler Coker and Atiana Lara scored goals in the 84th and 89th minutes to complete the blowout.  

Hannah Alexander recorded her first clean sheet as a Cardinal in the win.  
 

Game 2: UIW 1, TAR 4   

The Texans jumped to an early lead, netting two goals before the 16-minute mark.  

Taylor Kish cut the deficit in half in the 31st minute on an assist from Lily Beckham. The score remained 2-1 at the break.  

Tarleton tallied two more goals in the second half to defeat the Cardinals.  

UIW is back in action Thursday, September 4th, at Toyota Field against UTSA in the Alamo City Showdown.
