SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team will host Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) on Thursday at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium at 5 p.m. The Cardinals will then travel to Tarleton State to take on the Texans on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

• The Cardinals return 14 players from the 2024 roster, including ten players who each logged over 500 minutes of play.   

• Head coach Jake Plant returns for his third season after leading the team to an 8-8-3 finish in 2024, marking the Cardinals' best season since 2021.  

• Last season also saw UIW return to the Southland Conference Tournament for the first time since 2021.    

• The Red and Black enter the week 1-1 after their match against Rice was cancelled due to the weather last week.   

• Hannah Alexander recorded 18 saves playing every minute of UIW's two matches in week one.  

Scouting the Panthers  

• The Panthers enter the week 0-2 after losing to UTRGV and UNT.  

• Ashanti Hall leads the Panthers with two points. Last week, she recorded one goal in their match against UNT.  

• PVAMU was ranked 7th in the 2025 SWAC Preseason Poll.  

Scouting the Texans  

• The Texans enter the week 2-1-1after defeating Texas Southern and playing Northwestern State to a draw.  

• Stevie Reynolds is the team's leader in points, with 10 on the year. Reynolds also leads the team in goals, with five on twelve shots.  

• Tarleton State was picked to finish third in the Western Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll.
