SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word women's soccer team competes in a San Antonio classic against the University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) for the second consecutive season this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. This Alamo City showdown will have both teams traveling to Toyota Field, home of San Antonio FC (SAFC). A few days later, the Cardinals will take a trip east to Houston to compete against Texas Southern University (TSU) on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 6:00 p.m.
 

UIW

• Junior midfielder Alex Knutson scored two of her three goals this season against Prairie View A&M University last Thursday.

• Goalkeeper Hannah Alexander has played the full 90 minutes of the last five games and has accumulated over 23 saves over that span, which ranks third in the Southland Conference.

Scouting the Roadrunners

• This is the third time the Cards will compete against UTSA since 2018. The Roadrunners are leading the all time series at 2-0.

• Coming into Thursday's matchup, UTSA has gone 0-1-1, scoring only one goal in the two previous games.

Scouting the Tigers

• Graduate Student Kamara Bradley is at the top of the leaderboard in multiple TSU statistics, including goals, shot attempts and shot on goal percentage.

• TSU is sitting at a 1-3-1 record, having won their last matchup against Northern American University 2-0.
