EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team will take on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) championship at 6 p.m. CT.
The winner of this game will not only be crowned the first ever OVC men's soccer champions, but also earn a spot in the NCAA tournament and a shot at the national title.

- This is the Cardinals first trip to the post season in Division I history.
- Sello Diphoko, who leads the team in goals, scored the lone goal for UIW in the semifinal game against Eastern Illinois. This was his eighth goal of the season, fifth game winning goal, tying him for most in the conference.
- The two seed Cardinals had five individual awards for this season. Sello Diphoko was named first team all-conference. Miles Merritt and Hugo Constant were named to the second team. Merritt and Peleg Armendariz were named to the newcomer team.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- After their 2-0 win over Lindenwood, SIUE is headed to the final match unbeaten with a 15-0-3 record.
- In their last matchup with the Cardinals the Cougars earned a 3-0 victory.
- SIUE's coach, Cale Wasserman was named the OVC coach of the year for 2023.
