SAN ANTONIO – Northwestern State University announced on Thursday that the Demons have made the decision to cancel the remainder of the 2023 football season due to the recent passing of junior safety, Ronnie Caldwell.
 
UIW's upcoming game against Northwestern State which was scheduled for Saturday, November 11 at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium is canceled.

UIW Athletics would like to offer our condolences to Northwestern State University and the Natchitoches community as they were struck with unspeakable tragedy.
