SAN ANTONIO – Lindsey Scott Jr. and Taylor Grimes from the University of the Incarnate Word football team were named to the 2022 Walter Payton Award Preseason Watch List. The list, presented by Stat Perform, consists of 35 FCS standouts spanning across all 15 FCS conferences and includes 10 past finalists.
 
Scott, one of 11 quarterbacks to make the list, will play his first season with the Cardinals after transferring from Nicholls State University in the spring. In his final season with the Colonels, he totaled 990 yards with nine touchdowns to lead the Southland in rushing yards while throwing for 2,083 yards and 16 touchdowns.
 
Heading into his graduate year, wide receiver Grimes continues to rack up preseason accolades, adding the Walter Payton Award Watch List to his Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America first team bid.
