SAN ANTONIO – University of the Incarnate Word announces its 2021 Volleyball schedule.

UIW Volleyball is coming off a 6-8 overall season record while going 6-6 in Southland Conference play. The Cardinals made history when they clinched the final spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, marking their first postseason appearance since they joined the league.

"We are excited to build on our success from last season, with a group of young women who have embraced the team's philosophy of displaying the utmost character, in both triumph or defeat, on the court and in our community," said head coach
Samantha Dabbs Thomas. "With the additions to the coaching staff and incoming freshman class, there is an overwhelming sense of excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the volleyball program."

With the additions of assistant coaches
Colby Arrington, who came to UIW from Appalachian State, William & Mary and JMU -- and
Jesse Earl, who came to UIW from Mercer, Auburn and Xavier -- both coaches bring vast knowledge of volleyball at high levels of competition to assist the volleyball program in its continued success in the conference.

UIW will host its annual Cardinal Classic Tournament on Sept. 3 and 4, followed by its first home game against UTSA on September 7. You can now purchase single-game and group tickets for volleyball. Tickets for adult general admissions are $7 and reserved sections will cost $10. Children and senior tickets will sell for $5. Group ticket sales will be discounted to $5.

The 2021 volleyball season kicks off on August 27 at a road game against the University of Arlington.
