SUGAR LAND, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word women's golf team rallied on Monday afternoon to climb into seventh place after 36 holes in the HBU Husky Invitational at Riverbend Country Club.

NOTABLES
- Positioned in 11th place during an early phase of the second round, the Cardinals shot well enough to climb four places. They scored rounds of 319 and 317, finishing the day at 636 -- some 28 strokes off of the pace.
- Lauren Mancha shot rounds of 78 and 78 to lead UIW. She finished the first two rounds tied for 18th place on the individual leaderboard, some ten strokes behind the leader.
- Gracie Aday, Stirling Phillips, Iliana Stowers and Makenna Davidson also competed for the Cardinals.
- Phillips shot five birdies for UIW. Davidson and Mancha had four each.
- Jenna Phillips of Sam Houston State shot rounds of 72 and 74, which vaulted her into the lead with a 146, some two strokes ahead of second-place Daniela Bergmann of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
- Host HBU shot rounds of 298 and 310 to claim possession of first place with a total of 608. Sam Houston is in second, one stroke off of that pace.
TUESDAY'S ACTION
- The final 18 holes commence with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday.
- UIW tee-off positions: 9A-Mancha, 10-Aday, 11-Phillips, 12-Stowers, 13B-Davidson.
