ABILENE, Texas-- Two new school records fell for the University of the Incarnate Word track and field teams as they wrap-up a day of competition at the Wildcat Last-Chance Open.
LEADERS
Deja Keys posted a record-breaking performance in the 100m. Keys clocked in at 11.76 to PR and break the four-year old school record by two-hundredths of a second.
Emily Davila soared over her previous school record (3.75m/12-3.5) in the women's pole vault, clearing 3.88m/12-8.75 on her first attempt.
Tiffani Mays rounded the track in 54.78 in a solo 400m, while
Gabrielle Estrada recorded a toss of 45.16m/148-2 in the discus throw.
On the men's side,
Clinton Cole posted his second-best time of the season in the 100m with a 10.41.
Garett Cortez crossed the line in 3:51.08 in the 1500m and
Collin Sepulveda ran a solid 53.06 in the 400H.
UP NEXT
The top 48 competitors in each individual event advances to the 2018 West Regional Qualifier meet in Sacramento, California May 24-26. The top 24 student-athletes competing in the multis and 10,000m automatically qualify for the National Championships, which is held in Eugene, Oregon, June 6-9. The final list of participants will be posted on the NCAA's website on Thursday, May 17.
