2017 (Sophomore): Cole opened up his second season at the Aggie Invitational with improvements in the 60 meter dash. His ability to excel in both sprints and jumps was shown at the J.D. Martin invitational as he took first place in the 60 meters and long jump. The Temple high school native recorded a leap of 23-8.25 to break the indoor school record. Cole proved to be a force as he made a name for himself at the Indoor Conference Championship. He recorded the fastest time in UIW history in the 60 meters (6.73) for a third place podium finish. His momentum carried over into the 200 meter finals where he broke another indoor Cardinal record, and once again earned another spot on the podium. Cole sprinted around the track in 21.40 seconds to finish second amongst Southland competitors. During the outdoor season, he posted a personal best time in 100 meter dash (10.38) to win the event at the Texas State Bobcat Classic. Cole concluded a season of success with solid performances at the the outdoor championships. He helped the 4x100 meter relay team finish third for the second year in a row with a season's best time of 40.48 seconds. In addition, he finished fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 200 with a personal best of 21.12.
2016 (Freshman): Cole competed in the 60 meters, 200, 100 and long jump as a first year Cardinal. He was also a significant leg on both the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. He kicked off the indoor season with a second place finish in the 200 at the J.D. Martin Invitational. Cole ran second leg on the men's 4x400 meter relay that finished fourth at the Southland Conference indoor championships. The squad's 3:17.54 is the third fastest time indoors in school history. During the outdoor season, Cole posted a time of 21.14 at the UIW Invitational to finish first and add his name to the Cardinal record book.He received Men's Track and Field Athlete of the week honors twice by the Southland. He capped off his season at the outdoor conference championships with a fifth place finish in the 100 meters, and third place in the 4x100 relay.Â
High School: Cole was on the football and track teams at Temple High School. He ran on the third place Texas 5A 4x200-meter relay team as a senior. He ran on all three relay teams and also long jumped. His best jump came as a junior when he went 21-11.
Personal: Cole is the son of Georgia Cole Clinton Cole, Sr., and is studying rehabilitative sciences. He has two siblings, Tyler and Isaac. He was born on September 9, 1996. He serves as a tutor at his church in Temple and as a camp counselor for sick children in the local Children's hospital.
