San Antonio, Texas – Following a hard-fought victory over rival HBU last Saturday, the UIW men's basketball team hosts three-time defending Southland Conference Tournament champions, Stephen F. Austin, on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. from the McDermott Convocation Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
OPENING TIP
SFA has won all five meetings against the Cardinals. UIW's best chance at upsetting the Lumberjacks came in the 2013-14 campaign, where SFA squeaked by with a 76-74 home victory on Feb. 1, 2014.

Summary: SFA ran its winning streak to three games and won its first road game of the season following a 61-58 victory at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday.
The new-look Lumberjacks, led by first-year head coach Kyle Keller, are led in offense by Ivan Canete with 12.5 points per game. Canete also leads SFA in three-pointers made (34), three-point field goal percentage (45.3), free-throw percentage (86.0), and steals (26). TJ Holyfield and Ty Charles each average a team-best 5.9 rebounds per game, while Holyfield has 22 of the team's 58 blocked shots. As a team, SFA is 7th in the conference with a -0.4 scoring margin (68.1-68.4) and tops with a +4.5 rebounding margin (34.0-29.5).

Jorden Kite added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Socks went 10-for-11 from the free throw line and is second in the SLC with a .841 percentage (53-for-63) from the charity stripe.

Miles Banks has overtaken the team lead in rebounds per game with 7.4, good for T-4th in the SLC, while Johnson is T-6th with 7.3. As a team, the Cardinals are 10th in the SLC with a -3.7 scoring margin (77.5-81.2) and 11th with a -5.4 rebounding margin (34.5-39.9).

UIW concludes its three-game home stand against Abilene Christian on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The game will feature the annual "Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers" game, along with the 3-Point Challenge, where pledges on how many triples the Cardinals make go to the American Cancer Society.
