FRISCO, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team had five players selected to the Southland Conference's All-Academic Team, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
Cardinals selected were graduate students Lewis Row and
Love Bettis, senior
Amani Drummond, junior
Esteban Mann and freshman
Mihael Tomic.Â
Leading the way for UIW in the classroom was Row, whose grade-point average was a perfect 4.0.
Drummond recorded a 3.77 GPA, Mann a 3.66, Tomic a 3.65 and Bettis a 3.35.
To be eligible, nominees much have a GPA of at least 3.25 for the semester prior to the sport's championship, completed at least one full semester prior to the season and played in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
