Men's Soccer Travels to Michigan

ROCHESTER, MICHIGAN – The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team are searching for their first win of the season as they head to Michigan to play Oakland University on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Golden Grizzlies (0-4) are also yet to win a game this year.  They are celebrating Homecoming weekend and are coming off of a pair of losses to #25 Denver and Air Force.  Raphael Reynolds, Austin Ricci and Gavin Hoy have split Oakland's three goal tally on the year so far.

Goalkeeping duo Wes Mink and Elliott Tarney have split time in the box and share a 2.25 goals against average and 16 total saves.  Mink made his first official start in the Grizzlies previous game against Denver and is now 0-2 with a 1.90 goals against average.

For the Cardinals (0-5), midfielder Noah Keats (Exeter, England/The King's School) remains the team's best offensive player with a total of one goal and one assist, while hitting 16 shots and seven on goal.  UIW has out-shot their opponents, 54-48, but the opposition has six more shots on goal.

In the net, the Cardinals have a new option as goalkeeper Jarrett Bremmer (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva HS) made his first appearance for the UIW at the High Point Classic last weekend.  He made a total of five saves and just one goal.  Kieran O'Boyle (Blackpool, England/St. Mary's Catholic) has played the previous four games at the number one spot and owns a 1.75 goals against average.
