ABILENE, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word basketball teams close out the regular season on Saturday at Southland Conference rival Abilene Christian.  The women's game tips off at 1 p.m. and is followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.

The UIW women enter the contest with an 8-18 record and a 2-11 mark in the conference.  The team's top four scorers are all seniors with Rose Whitehead (Grapevine/Grapevine HS) leading the way at 12.5 points per game.  Ifunanya Mora (Grand Prairie/Arlington Bowie HS) averages 10.8 points per game and leads the squad with 7.0 rebounds per game and 98 assists.  Her sister, Kosisio Mora, is right behind her with 9.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

The Cardinals are scoring 60.5 points per game and allowing 67.5 points per game.  The Wildcats (17-12, 7-6) knocked off UIW, 73-67 on February 13 when the mounted a furious second half rally.  They have four players scoring in double figures led by Renata Marquez at 14.8 per game.  ACU is outscoring opponents by nine points per game on the season.

The Incarnate Word men are hoping to close out their regular season with a second consecutive road victory.  They are 6-5 away from home this year and 20-6 overall.  The Cardinals are one of the highest scoring teams in the country at 83.0 points per game and they are led by star junior guard Denzel Livingston (Houston/Waltrip HS).

Livingston has been the Southland Conference Player of the Week on two occasions this season and averages 20.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  No one else in the country is even averaging 20 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.  Three other players on the team are scoring in double figures with sophomore guard Kyle Hittle (New Braunfels/New Braunfels HS) tossing in16.7 points and grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game.  Anthony Horton (League City/Clear Creek HS) and Sam Burmeister (San Antonio/Churchill HS) both chip in with 11.2 points per game.

The Cardinals defeated the Wildcats (11-19, 2-11) on February 13, 80-68 at home in a game that appeared on ESPN 3.  ACU is led by point guard Parker Wentz who is averaging 13.8 points per game while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 45.0 percent from three-point range.  Julian Edmonson has come off the bench to score 11.2 points per game.
