Texas Women's Pioneers got the best of the Incarnate Word Cardinals on Saturday easily winning both games of the doubleheader. The Cardinals move to 22-20 on the year, 9-14 in the Lone Star Conference.

UIW suffered their first three game sweep of the season.  Incarnate Word managed only two runs in each of the games but the Pioneers exploded on the offensive side putting up 16 runs and nine runs respectively.

Melanie Padilla blasted her fourth homerun of the season driving in the only two runs of the second game. In game one, UIW got RBI's from Kelley Moritz and Kim Hanson. Moritz drove in a run after a pinch hit single and Hanson got an easy RBI after being walked with the bases loaded.

These loses have caused Incarnate Word to drop to seventh place in the Lone Star Conference. If the Cardinals can maintain a top eight position, they will return to Pioneer Field for the LSC Championships in late April.

Next up for the Cardinals is a doubleheader vs. Texas A&M Kingsville in San Antonio. First pitch is at 3:00 PM at Cardinal Field.
