LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior
Victoria Altamirano earned First Team All-Region honors as an outfielder in the Central Region, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Tuesday.
She earned Player of the Year honors for the third consecutive season and the Hitter of the Year award for the second straight year in the Southland Conference (SLC). The senior is the first SLC player to win both awards in multiple seasons in nearly a decade. She also received First Team All-SLC recognition.
Altamirano finished the season leading the team and conference in home runs (22), batting average (.441), on-base percentage (.604), slugging percentage (1.021), OPS (1.6125), runs (70), RBI (66), walks (56), and total bases (146). She was the only player in the SLC with more than 15 home runs and finished 31 total bases clear of second place.
In the series against Houston Christian, she was 7-for-8 (.875) with five runs scored, two home runs, and four RBIs. During the second game of that series, she was a perfect 4-for-4, a season-high for hits in a single game.
