FRISCO, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word had five student-athletes selected to the Southland Conference's All-Academic Softball team.

Sydney Zenon, Bryanna Fuentes, Kennedy Hill, Ayla Gonzales and Victoria Altamirano were selected to the All-Academic squad, which requires a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.

Zenon led the way with a 3.86 GPA, with Fuentes and Hill right behind at 3.85. Gonzales finished with a 3.80 GPA, while Altamirano had a 3.40.

Aside from the grade-point average requirements, student athletes must also have completed at least one full semester in the season the nomination took place and competed in at least 50 percent of competition during the most recent season.
