SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team will open the Southland Conference portion of its schedule at home on March 12.
In a schedule revealed by the conference on Thursday, it was announced the Cardinals would begin SLC play with three games against McNeese at H-E-B field on March 12-13. The teams will play a single game on the 12
th before playing a doubleheader the following day.
That will be the first of four series the Cardinals will host in conference. The others will be against Southeastern Louisiana on April 2-3, Stephen F. Austin on April 6-7 and Northwestern State on April 23-24.
The series against SFA will be a doubleheader on day one and a single game on day two, while the others will start with a single matchup then move to a doubleheader the following day.
For the road portion of the schedule, UIW will travel to Lamar (March 19-20), Houston Christian (March 26-24), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (April 9-10) and East Texas A&M (April 30-May 1).
The full 2027 schedule will be posted when all non-conference games are finalized.
