After a heart breaking loss to the Aggies on Saturday afternoon, the Cardinals hoped for payback in Sunday's double header.  With a 6-2 win in game one, UIW was on track to achieving what they set out to do.  After only five innings, however, game two ended in favor of Cameron, 13-4.
 
Alex Yarbrough, UIW right fielder, would drive short stop Ashley Freeman in with a single down the right side for an early run in the first inning.  The Cardinals wouldn't score again until the fourth inning, but when they did, it was huge.
 
With runners on second and third, UIW catcher Sarah Holub stepped up to bat and crushed the ball to left field for a three run homer.  Those three runs would put the Cardinals up 4-0.
 
The Cardinals would finish off their scoring in the sixth inning with right field home runs by Yarbrough and UIW second baseman Chelsea Muskopf. 
 
UIW kept Cameron scoreless until the final inning of the game, allowing two Aggie runs.  Junior UIW pitcher Briana Sanchez allowed eight hits along with those two runs while Aggie pitcher Carrie Dilks allowed nine hits and six runs.
 
Coming off a huge win, the only thing that would make the day better for UIW would be another win.
 
With two runs in the first inning, the Cardinals would make their way onto the scoreboard first, but the Aggies didn't go down without a fight; a really big fight.
 
The Cardinal defense held Cameron to just one run in the first inning but allowed a whooping seven runs in the second and five in the third.
 
At bat, the Aggies were led by catcher Sonia Foutch and right fielder Amanda Karth with a homer a piece.  Foutch's homerun came in the second inning and added three runs to the Cameron score and Karth's came in the third inning, generating two more runs.
 
UIW ended the game with seven hits and four runs, but just weren't able to match up with Cameron's 11 hits and 13 runs.
 
After just five innings the Aggies eight run ruled the Cardinals and the game was over. The Cardinals are now 12-9 and 2-4 in conference.
 
UIW will return home to take on Ohio Dominican in a non-conference double header on Wednesday, March 14. First pitch will be thrown at 2 p.m.
