The University of the Incarnate Word men's soccer team saw their 11-game unbeaten streak came to an end on the road Friday night as the No. 1-ranked Cardinals lost to the No. 2-ranked Mustangs, 3-0, in Wichita Falls.
Neither team scored in the first half, but MSU scored three goals in a 20-minute span to give UIW, the top team in the South Central Region of NCAA Division II, suffered its first loss since a 2-1 season-opener loss back in August.
UIW defeated Midwestern State, 1-0, earlier in the season at Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium.
The Cardinals (10-2-1 overall, 2-1-1 in the Lone Star Conference) have no game scheduled for Sunday and will head back to San Antonio to try and regroup before hosting Texas A&M International University at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
