THREE LONE STAR TEAMS LISTED IN PRE-SEASON

While the poll did not exactly coincide with the Lone Star Conference predictions, the league placed three teams in the top 25 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches pre-season poll.

The national poll released on November 3 said Tarleton State should be the number 11 team in the NCAA's Division II while Central Oklahoma came in at number 18. The third LSC team to receive pre-season recognition is Midwestern State with the Mustangs being number 20.

The Lone Star pre-season poll said Midwestern State is the favorite to win the South Division with Tarleton State second. Central Oklahoma was the overwhelming favorite to take the North Division title.

In the LSC predictions, the voters said Incarnate Word, playing its first season as a conference member, will finish fifth in the South. The Cardinals are coming off consecutive titles in the Heartland Conference and consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II South Central regional tournament before moving over to the LSC last July 1.
