CARDINAL MEN AND WOMEN RANKED NATIONALLY IN SOCCER POLLS

With both teams sporting undefeated records, and with the men's team knocking off the No. 5-ranked team in the nation, the University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's soccer teams have be ranked in the season's first NCAA Division II soccer polls released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Sporting a 1-0 record after defeating Midwestern State (then ranked fifth in the country), the Cardinal men are ranked 14th in the nation in NCAA Division II and 2nd in the South Central Region behind West Texas A&M (ranked 8th in the nation with a 2-0 record).

In the women's polls, UIW is sitting in 6th with a 2-0 record after the opening weekend of play. The Cardinal women host Texas A&M International University (0-1) tonight at 7 p.m. in the home- and Heartland Conference-opener.

This weekend has a full slate of Cardinal soccer for the men and the women in the friendly confines of UIW's Gayle & tom Benson Stadium.

On Friday, the first soccer doubleheader of the year takes place as the women host No. 11-ranked Rollins College at 6 p.m. and the Cardinal men follow up with a matchup against the Rollins men.

Then, on Sunday, the UIW women play host to Texas Women's University at 1 p.m. and then men will take on Heartland Conference foe St. Edward's University at 7 p.m.
