MANHATTAN, Kansas -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's golf team tied for fourth at the Powercat Classic, placing three Cardinals inside the top 25 and finishing with an overall score of 901 (+37).
The Cardinals posted their best round of the tournament in the second round Monday, shooting a 299 after carding rounds of 301 in the first and third rounds.
Victoria Bauer led the Cardinals, tying for 13th with a 224 (+8). Bauer started with her best round, shooting a one-over 73 on Monday, followed by rounds of 74 and 77.
Aubrie Nolen tied for 18th with a 266 (+10), saving her best round for the final round with 74 (+2). She opened with rounds of 77 and 75 before closing with her best score of the tournament.
Addison Braden finished third among the Cardinals, tying for 25th with a 277 (+11). She recorded rounds of 76/74/77.
Claire McMyler tied for 33rd with a 229 (+13). McMyler opened with a 75 (+3), followed by rounds of 76 and 78.
Jordan Sandoval tied for 43rd with a 233 (+17). Sandoval opened with rounds of 78 and 82 before posting her best score of the tournament in the final round, carding a 73 (+1).
The Cardinals close out their fall schedule on Monday, Oct. 12, for the New Mexico State Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, N.M., at the NMSU Golf Course.
