LUBBOCK, Texas -- The University of the Incarnate Word women's golf team opened its season at the Red Raider Invitational this week, finishing eighth as a team with a total of 907 (+43).

The Cardinals posted their best round of the tournament in the final round Wednesday, shooting a 299 after carding rounds of 300 and 308 in the first two rounds.

Victoria Bauer led the Cardinals, finishing tied for 20th with a 226 (+10). Bauer saved her best round for the final round, shooting a one-over 73 on Wednesday after opening with rounds of 76 and 77.

Claire McMyler also carded a one-over 73 in the final round, finishing 36th with a 230 (+14) in her collegiate debut. McMyler posted rounds of 80 and 77 before closing with her best round of the tournament.

Jordan Sandoval finished with the third-best score for the Cardinals, recording rounds of 75, 77 and 79 for a total of 231 (+15). 

Addison Braden and Aubrie Nolen also made their collegiate debuts this past week. Braden opened with the best first-round score of 74 before carding rounds of 77 and an 83 to finish with a 234 (+18). Nolen recorded a 75 and an 86 before her best score in the final round of 74, to post a 235 (+19).

The Cardinals continue their fall schedule Sept. 28-29 at the Powercat Classic, hosted by Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas, at the Colbert Hills Golf Course.
