SAN ANTONIO -- Junior Victoria Bauer was named the Southland Conference Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

The Austria native led the Cardinals this past week at the Powercat Classic, tying for 13th with a 224 (+8), the third-best overall score of her collegiate career. Bauer opened the Power 4 event with her best round, carding a one-over 73 on Monday before following with rounds of 74 and 77.

Last season, Bauer finished the year with a team-best average score of 77 in 30 rounds of play. She continues to lead the Cardinals this season through two tournaments with an average score of 75. This marks the first Southland Conference weekly award of Bauer's career.

Bauer and the rest of the Cardinals will wrap up their fall schedule Oct. 12-14 at the Golf Iconic Classic at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
