PARIS -- Junior Marloes Steenbeek and incoming freshman Ece Ungor represented their home countries at the 2026 European Championships in Paris, France, held July 31 through Aug. 5. Steenbeek represented the Netherlands, while Ungor competed for Turkey.

Steenbeek, a back-to-back national champion in the women's solo free at the 2025 and 2026 collegiate nationals, competed in both the technical solo and free solo at the European Championships. She placed sixth in the technical solo, finishing with a final score of 243.4267. She also placed sixth in the free solo preliminary competition with a score of 265.1775, qualifying for the finals. The junior topped her score, moving up to fifth with a final score of 269.2087.

Ungor competed in the technical duet and free duet for Turkey. In the technical duet, Ungor's team finished with a 251.4525, placing 13th. Her team competed in the preliminaries of the free duet, placing 15th with a score of 227.6017. This is Ungor's second international championship competition of the summer. She competed in the European Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships earlier this summer, placing fourth in all three events she competed in.
