Women's Track and Field Have Solid First Day at Texas Invitational

The Incarnate Word women's track and field team had a trio of third-place finishes and a few other notable results as the Cardinals competed in the first day of the Texas Invitational.

Gia Booth took third in discus with a distance of 46.98 meters. Then over in high jump, Abbigail Morrow and Jai'Lin King both cleared 1.65 meters to take third in the event.

King placed fifth in long jump with a distance of 5.64 meters and Lexie Leal finished a fraction of a centimeter behind her to take sixth with a similar 5.64-meter distance.

Isabella Gonzalez-Velasquez and Lexie Leal finished 7th and 8th, respectively, in the 400 meter hurdles with times of 1:01.21 and 1:01.54. And Marie Vazeilles ran the 1,500 meters in 4:45.31 to finish 10th.

The Cardinals conclude the Texas Invitational on Friday, May 1st.
