Githens Takes 4th in Epee at NCAA West Regionals

The Incarnate Word Women's Fencing Team competed in the 2026 NCAA West Regionals on Saturday, with multiple student-athletes looking to secure spots in the 2026 NC Women's Fencing Championships when selections are announced on Tuesday, March 10th.

Amelia Dungey placed 7th and Liana Vasyakin placed 12th in the Women's Saber. Jenna Baly was the only Cardinal competing in the Women's Foil discipline, taking 8th in the event. Incarnate Word's best team showing came in the Women's Epee, with Gracyn Githens just missing the podium. She placed 4th in the Women's Epee, while teammate Charlotte Ahaus came in 7th.

The UIW women's fencing team now turns its focus to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Fencing Championships, which will take place tomorrow, March 8th.
