SAN ANTONIO- In an all-out performance at the Northwestern Duals, Gaafar went 13-3 in women's epee. The junior from Cairo, Egypt went undefeated in performances against Cleveland State, Lawrence and Fairleigh Dickinson. Against ranked teams, No. 8 Northwestern and No. 13 Ohio State, Gaafar picked up three wins. The award is the first, not only the first for Gaafar, but for a UIW fencer.
