The Incarnate Word women's track and field team took on Day 1 of the UTSA Invitational with
Gia Booth posting a pair of top-10 finishes in field events.
Booth placed eighth in shot put with a distance of 13.94 meters and then followed that up with a ninth-place finish in hammer throw with a mark of 43.96 meters.
Isabella Gonzalez-Velasquez,
Dariana Luna,
Fatima Montes, and
Neus Borras-Sanchez finished 11th through 14th in the javelin throw. Gonzalez-Velasquez had a throw of 30.11 meters, Luna posted 28.85 meters, Montes was close behind with a mark of 28.44 meters, and Borras-Sanchez covered 26.74 meters.
The Cardinals take on Day 2 of the UTSA Invitational on Saturday, March 21st with the action getting underway at 11:00 a.m.
