SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's cross country teams will host five schools at this year's 6th Annual UIW Twilight Meet. The women's 4k race will start at 8:50 p.m. and the men's 6k will follow at 9:10 p.m. on Friday, August 29. The meet will take place at the Classics Elite Soccer Complex.
Live results of this year's UIW Twilight Meet can be found here.
The men's team enters the season as last year's Southland Conference Champions after defeating the competition in dominant fashion. The returners are highlighted by three all-conference selections from last year's squad: Kevin Hernandez (First Team All-Conference), Anthony Zapata (First Team All-Conference), Bryan Mileski (Second Team All-Conference), and Jared Laverty (Second Team All-Conference).
The women's side features a new look that includes four freshmen. Vera Yohanna-Maisaje returns for her sophomore season after earning Second Team All-Conference honors as a freshman last season.
The men's team is looking for its fifth first-place finish in a row at the Twilight, while the women's side also looks for its fifth first-place finish. Both Cardinal men and women own the course record. Griffin Neal (2022) holds the men's course record, while Abby Gray (2021) has the women's course record.
