NATCHITOCHES, La. – The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the Southland Conference Championship meet on Friday morning on the campus of Northwestern State University. The Cardinals posted strong finishes, with the men's team taking third place and the women finishing fourth overall.
Leading the way for the men, Eric Pineda clocked a time of 23:31 to place seventh, earning First Team All-Conferencehonors. Anthony Zapata followed closely behind, crossing the line in 10th place with a 23:38 finish to secure Second Team All-Conference recognition.
On the women's side, Oceane Cercueil paced the Red and Black, finishing 22nd with a time of 22:16.30, while Stoya Laydevant was right behind in 24th place at 22:16.40.
The Cardinals now turn their attention to the NCAA South Central Regional Championship, set for Thursday, November 14, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
