COLLEGE STATION, TX – The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Arturo Barrios Inivitational on Friday morning at the Dale Watts Cross Country Course. The men's team finished in sixth, while the women finished in twenty-fifth. All results can be found here.   

Eric Pineda led the way for the Cardinals, finishing in 26th with a 23:47 time. Freshman, Christian Castro finished behind Pineda finishing in 58th with a 24:09 time.   

Freshman Stoya Laydevant (22:08) led the way for the women's side for the Red and Black as she finished 127th. Vera Maisaje finished right behind Laydevant in 149th place with a 22:19 time.   

The Cardinals will return on October 31st at the Southland Conference Championship meet. The meet will take place in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
