SAN ANTONIO -- The University of the Incarnate Word men's and women's cross country teams will begin the 2026 season with a pair of home meets in early September. 

As they have for several years, the Cardinals will open up by hosting the UIW Twilight at the Classics Elite Soccer Complex on Sept. 1. Eleven days later, they host the UIW Invitational at the Windcrest Golf Club.

The men's team has won the the UIW Twilight each of the past five seasons, while winning the UIW Invitational every year it's been held since 2017. The women's team also won the Twilight race in both 2022 and 2024.

The Cardinals will then travel to the Southland Pre-Conference Meet in Lake Charles, La. on Sept. 26 before closing the regular season in College Station at the Arturo Barrios Invitational Oct. 16.

The postseason brings a return to Lake Charles for the Southland Conference Championships on Oct. 30. The men's program earned conference championships in both 2022 and 2024.

If they are able to qualify, Cardinal runners will take part in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in College State on Nov. 13.
