SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word baseball team had two players named to the 2025 Southland Conference All-Conference Teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
Rob Liddington Jr. and Rey Mendoza were named to the first and second teams, respectively.
Liddington started all 50 games and was a catalyst for the Cardinals. Offensively he finished sixth in bating average (.359), fourth in slugging percentage (.675), fifth in OBP+ (1.123), sixth in runs (53), second in hits (74), ninth in RBI (50), second in triples (5), first in home runs (15), and eighth in stolen bases (13). Defensively, Liddington led the conference in putouts (404), total chances (428), and double plays (45). He finished with the sixth-highest fielding percentage (.995) for the Red and Black.
Mendoza was a force at the plate all year, but he hit another gear when conference play started. He finished second in slugging percentage (.726), second in OPS (1.160), third in RBI (34), first in doubles (11), and first in home runs (11) in conference play. Overall, Mendoza led the SLC in RBI (58) and finished second in home runs (14)
