SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word football team plays its final regular season home game on Saturday, November 4 against Nicholls State University at 3 p.m. With a win, UIW has the chance to clinch the Southland Conference title for the third season in a row and the automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs.

UIW
  • The Cardinals remain at No. 4 in the AFCA Coaches Poll behind South Dakota State, Furman, and Montana. The Stats Perform FCS Top 25 rankings feature UIW at No. 8 and the Division I Football Championship Committee's Top 10 Rankings were released with UIW just barely making the cut at No. 10.
  • UIW has jumped into the top five offenses in the country, putting up 472 yards per game for the fourth-highest offense.

  • Riding the three-game win streak before falling to Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), last weekend, the Colonels received a vote in the AFCA Coaches Top 25 Poll.
  • Collin Guggenheim is averaging 68.43 rushing yards per contest and has tallied seven touchdowns on the season for Nicholls.
  • In the air, quarterback Pay McQuaide has thrown seven touchdowns and nine interceptions. He averages 222 yards per game and sits at a 56.03 completion percentage with 1,555 yards this season.
  • Ethan Lee and Tyler Morton have 43 tackles apiece. Morton adds 3 tackles for loss, three interceptions, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Joe Mason leads the Colonels in sacks with 4.5 to go along with seven QBHs.

LAST TIME THEY MET
  • The Cardinals have defeated the Colonels in the last three matchups. Most recently, UIW won 49-14 in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
  • The all-time series is tied 5-5.
