SAN ANTONIO -- University of the Incarnate Word wide receiver
Roy Alexander has been named a Third-Team Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American, the organization announced Monday morning.
Alexander, who played at Texas Tech in 2025, returns to the UIW football program, where he had a record-setting 2024 season with the Cardinals, catching a single-season program-record 100 passes for 1,108 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The 100 receptions and 13 touchdowns were both second in the FCS that season and helped the Cardinals go 11-3 and reach the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs. Alexander earned Stats Perform Third-Team All-American honors at the end of 2024 and was also named
Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year.
This is the second year in a row a UIW receiver made the Stats Preseason All-American squad, with former teammate
Jalen Walthall making
the first team in 2025.
The Cardinals open the 2026 season against Oklahoma Panhandle State at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.
