SAN ANTONIO – The University of the Incarnate Word softball team heads to Hammond, Louisiana, to compete in the 2022 Southland Conference Softball Tournament. The Cardinals are set to face Northwestern State University at 12:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday, May 10, at North Oak Park.

- Ryleigh Mata and Savannah Behabetz were named to third team All-SLC.

UIW
- The Cardinals are coming off a 3-2 victory against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
- Mata leads UIW with a .365 batting average, which places her fifth in the SLC, and 61 hits, placing her third in the SLC.
- Behabetz has a .343 batting average and has hit two walk-off RBIs this season.
- Maddie Boldt knocked her tenth home run of the season to stay at the top of the SLC rankings.
- Ashley Trapp leads the Cardinals in the circle, throwing 83 innings and striking out 92 batters; she has registered two complete games this season.
NSU
- NSU is coming off a dropped three-game series against Southeastern Louisiana University.
- Sage Hoover of NSU was named SLC Freshman of the Year.
- Laney Roos leads the Lady Demons with a .359 batting average, ranking her sixth in the SLC.
- Hoover has thrown 120 innings and has recorded 163 strikeouts this season.
- Keely DuBois has registered eight home runs, tying her at fourth in the SLC.
