FORT WORTH, Texas – The University of the Incarnate Word Baseball team dropped an 11-7, 11-inning decision at TCU on Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium. 

Nixon Brannan cut TCU's three run lead down in the second frame off an RBI single that plated Wilson Ehrhardt (3-1).

The Horned Frogs tacked on another run in the third before UIW tied the game in the fifth. With runners on first and second, Ridge Rogers reached first on a fielder's choice, allowing Jimmy De Leon to cross home plate unearned. Back-to-back RBI singles from Alec Carr and Grant Smith leveled the game, 4-4. 

Ehrhardt led off the eighth with a triple, then an RBI single from Hernan Yanez put the Cardinals on top, 5-4. A Horned Frog triple in the bottom of the inning plated two as TCU took back the lead (6-5).

In the top of the ninth, Ehrhardt was intentionally walked to load the bases. Roberto Gonzalez then hit an RBI single and reached second on a fielder's choice, allowing Daniel Calabrese to score, unearned, and Rogers to cross home plate as UIW gained a 7-6 advantage. 

An RBI single from TCU in the bottom of the ninth sent the game into extra innings (7-7). The Horned Frogs then closed out the game with a grand slam in the bottom of the eleventh (11-7).

The Cardinals head back to Sullivan Field, sponsored by H-E-B for the final home series of the season. UIW faces the University of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 6:30 p.m. CT on Thursday, May 12.
